Hari Sukan

My first sports day in smk bu (3).
List of houses (and their patrons-- it was given only this year!)
Yellow-Razak
Red-Mahatir
Green-Hussein
Purple-Abdullah
Blue-Rahman
And let me just say: it was fun.
Unlike
Puay Chai's, which, despite renting the kelana jaya station, is quite sucky. because for one, it doesn't have mascots or themes. In bu3, it has a field big enough that at least 10 bungalows can fit it. (I am so not kidding!) And! All houses has a tent which they can decorate. The theme this year was our patrons. So us Yellows dressed up one of our fellows in malay costume (hat, sarong and all) and we decorated our tent by surrounding cardboard (painted with yellow brick patterns on it) and putting up a sign which said Bandar Razak. and then, we stuck a stick on the ground with the words Bandar Razak:0.01 metres just a meter away. ah well, yellows and their creativity.

The best part for me was marching. I was in the marching troope, and I even put two yellow hair pins in support for Yellow house! o anyway, I'm in the third row, so they gave everyone in the third row umbrellas with words painted on it, second and first row peeps got balloons. When we marched by the V.I.Ps, third row opened their umbrellas to reveal the words, and on the commanders' orders, second row released their balloons. third row dind't have to do anything but amrch and hold balloons. Did I mention our mascot held a long (yellow, of course) cloth with the school emblem and Razak Boleh painted on it. Unlike the other houses' plain flags, we tied yellow ballons on it and held it vertically. Unfortunately, for all their creativity, they went overboard when they gave us nerdy looking paper glasses and a petal tutu. (GAWD!!! we must've look like idiots marching around like that! seriously, PETAL TUTUS? no wonder there was a big fat pinky lengthed bee buzzing aorund us -- it must have mistaken us for flowers!) When we practised on Wednesday, they said they'd give us black glasses. I thought they meant sunglasses. Little did I know... oh my isis, it was embarassing.

red houses' mascot had "bodyguards" who wore black shirts, REAL sunglasses and had plastic toy guns! It was so funny! Green house marchers had to wear huge gigantinous glasses similar to that of Hussein's... who is their patron. purple house had sparkly bracelets for their salute, blue house marchers blew a kiss after saluting (if i were a vip, and I saw that, I'd vomit blood on the spot), and my house had to slap their thigh and salute. I was spared a red mark on my thigh because I had to carry the umbrella. Their were YE people selling drinks, and in support for my brother who is in that YE group, I bought drinks there too. Our cheerleading squad, Stompers, graced the spot in front of the VIPs with their well-practised dance moves, and the taekwodo team, which included my bro in it, did a demo. My bro has been a black-belter longer ( you can so tell because his white taekwondo uniform was more worn and dull than the others, or maybe we have some really suckish detergeant), and did a side kick on a piece of wood which sucessfully broke into two. I was so proud, I told the girl standing beside me "That's my brother!" Oh yeah, before he broke the plank, he let out a roar so loud I think it startled the audience a bit.

Anyways, to promote feminine self-defense, they did a demo where a girl fought some guys ( she didn't REALLy hit them; it was cheographed), and my brother, acting as am assaulter, was "flung" backwards onto the ground with a bag that sailed thorugh the air and slung him straight on the chest, thrown powerfully by the girl (Good arm, gal!).

The results of the sports day?
1. Rahman
2. Razak (darn it! Missed the glory by a hundred pints or so!)
3. Mahatir
4. Hussein
5. Abdullah

Better luck next year... I hope.
